OLD ANSI SCREENS FROM HUDSON VALLEY (OLD AREA CODE 914)

AlterLink was one of the first BBS I visited with my new Tandy 1000sx in 1986. Rich visted my first BBS and we had a long chat. When browsing recently I was surprised to find the old welcome screen which I present here...

Ghostcomm had awesome ansi screens - this is one of them that survived...

Unfortunately these are the only ones I've located so far, but hope to find others. The ones I would really love to have is Land Of Dementia's and The Freeze's Phortress. My own 'Night Shift' screen which I had spent hours designing is gone - I had tossed it out with ALL my old BBS backups on 5.25 inch floppies, concluding in the mid-90's that I'd never be able to access them anyway seeing the 5.25 FD was extinct. I had no idea that 10+ years later nostalgia would drive me to set up this site and I'd locate a 5.25 FD which is now fully functioning in one of my computers and would be able to read those old disks of mine...sigh.

If there's anyone in possession of one of these old 914 ansi screens - by all means let me know. I'll certainly post it. Any 914 ex-sysops who have their BBS backups (and ansi art) on 5.25' disks and can't access them contact me - if you're willing to mail me the disk(s) I'll zip the contents and make it available for download here. [This offer also applies to ANY sysop if they can't access their 5.25 disks and wish to recover old BBS backups.]
